Fantastic words, seriously. I can’t see getting married without both sex and co-hab. Easy divorces have cheapened marriage in a certain way, and being able to make love to and tolerate someone are the best ways to make sure your choice for marriage is the right one.

Haha, e.peters, that is kind of ridiculous. But it’s the same thing I was talking about, it’s stupid games girls play and rules that they have. They think it’ll make things better in the end, but really they’re just being ridiculous. And you were never “friend zoned”, you were pretty blatantly toyed with. Girls like that aren’t worth the effort at all, unless you just want to make the effort long enough to say “You’re being a ridiculous cunt and you can either stop it and act like a grown up or you can find another dick to fuck with”. Not all girls do this, and you don’t have to put up with it. Good for you staying single if it means having balls.

I don’t think it is the woman’s job to make the next move, but I expect a girl to show some interest. I always feel like I am in the friend zone, even when I am flirtatious. I even asked a girl out multiple times and she kept giving me the run around. Finally, I gave up. Then I found out from her sister that she was interested the whole fucking time, but wanted to see how MUCH I was interested. Fuck that.

The friend zone, to me has a timer. Sometimes you have have weeks and months before you are put in the friend zone. Other times you have a matter of moments. And getting yourself out of the FZ is like fighting an uphill battle with slingshots.

I have been single for almost 4 years now. Largely by choice, but man, girls really know how to fuck shit up with minimum effort.

This “Friend zone” is where guys get stuck in when they are afraid to push the relationship up to the next level. Those guys seem to think its the woman’s job to make the next move.

But yes. The Friend Zone is indeed a myth. There are underlying reasons why someone “only thinks of you as a friend” be it hang-ups on their part or simply a lack of interest in you but they’re squeamish about all-out rejecting you. That can be a dangerous place to be, because a girl (or guy) will enjoy the attention you give them without feeling obligated to return any of it because “we’re just friends.” It’s a screwy thing to do to someone and it’s best to take a step away from that sort of situation and look at it objectively and honestly, both with yourself and with the guy or gal.

Yeah guys, don’t do that.

I don’t know how it happened, but something sparked in his brain, and he asked me out again. We’ve been dating since 04/05/06 and I think we’re probably more in love today than we were even at the beginning.

I think the primary spark was if I don’t do something now I’m going to lose her and as much as I’m not ready to commit, I’m definitely not ready to lose her. It really took me another couple months to jump in to the relationship with both feet. It’s been significantly better since.

He makes me think about the things I do or the things that I feel. A lot of people know not to take other people at face value, but I don’t think people realize that they take THEMSELVES at face value.

I couldn’t date someone who wasn’t self-aware and in my experience very few people analyze their emotions and why they do things.
