There are underlying reasons why someone "only thinks of you as a friend" be it hang-ups on their part or simply a lack of interest in you but they're squeamish about all-out rejecting you. That can be a dangerous place to be, because a girl (or guy) will enjoy the attention you give them without feeling obligated to return any of it because "we're just friends." It's a screwy thing to do to someone and it's best to take a step away from that sort of situation and look at it objectively and honestly, both with yourself and with the guy or gal. Does this mean I still have a shot with you? :D
